We should study other religions because we can learn from them and hopefully become better people in the future. By learning from religious history, learning from their mistakes, we can better socialize with others.
History is important so we can have knowledge about our past and learn from our past. The same goes for religions. If you don’t know about other religions and you come across a person from another faith you may not understand them well or have tolerance for their differences. It’s fine to disagree with other religions, I am Christian and so I disagree with Muslims. That being said, if I ever met a muslim I would still be respectful. This is something we don’t see a lot in history, so be kind to others.
We all make mistakes and most religions have made mistakes that have hurt others. Islam, for example has killed other people just because they were not Muslim. Muslims call this a Jihad, which means “holy war’’. We can learn from other religion’s mistakes and treat one another well.
Studying other religions makes you a wiser person and makes you understand the evils of some religions. You know which ones to stay away from, and which ones you can maybe learn a little more about. Religion can be a dangerous thing if you don’t know what you are walking into.
Studying religion is important because it allows us to become more sociable and to become better people.
