I woke one morning to brightly colored lights and the smell of candy. I was on my back looking at a rainbow sunrise. As I started to sit up I saw the strangest thing, the tree that I had been sleeping under looked like peppermint candy. I stood up to inspect the tree and found that the tree did in fact grow peppermint! I started shoving this candy into my mouth, and it tasted better than any other peppermint candy I had ever tasted. I was very much energized by the peppermint and decided I would start down the pale pink path, just a few yards away. As I began to walk down this path I saw a little village just a few steps in front of me. I started walking through the town, the people looked normal from a distance, but once I got up close to them their eyes were something out of a movie. Their pupils were white with streaks of blue, and they had purple irises that shot a light that I cannot explain. I decided to talk to one and see what would happen. I walked up to a woman selling gum. “Hello’’ I said, trying not to be frightened by her eyes. “Hello’’ she said, “Who are you?’’ “I am a visitor’’ I said, relieved that she was civilized. “Of what sort?’’ she asked, with an arch of her brow. “The human kind’’ I said, trying to be brave. “Come in” she said, “And I will show you how you got here and how to get back. This happens all the time here in Sweets.” “Thank you so much!” I said. “No problem, we can get you back in three, two, one!” Bam!! The world exploded and I was sitting on my bed with a peppermint candy in my hand.
