Queen Vashti was Queen of Persia. She was invited to a party with her husband, King Ahasuerus. Ahasuerus wanted his Queen to be as beautiful as possible and wanted her to wear her crown, she refused and did not go to the party. That erupted a lot of other situations between her and Ahasuerus, so he decided to divorce her and execute her. Some years later some of Ahasuerus’s servants wanted him to choose a new Queen in place of Vashti. This pleased the King so he selected some women that came in to be contestants. One was a Jew named Esther. Esther was being raise by her cousin Medici. He put her in as a contestant and she was chosen as one of the women to go further in the contest. Esther was given a year to beautify herself. When the time came to present herself she pleased the King than any of the other women, and crowned her Queen.
