One of the things the Greeks spent a lot of time on is pottery, they would sculpt it, paint it, and use it.

            The Greeks usually sculpted the clay that they were using into vases, primarily bowls, plates, and the like. They also did not make their pottery very thick so they were really easy to break, that is why we find pieces of pottery broken in Greece.

            The Greeks liked painted pottery but did not have the colors that we do today, so they had to be contented with red and black. Sometimes the pottery would have a light cream color because of the soil in that region, but usually it was black on red, or red on black.

            The Greeks used pottery to decorate their homes with because their homes were so simply furnished. Using their pottery like vases gave a pop of color in their homes.
